ART OF SOUTHEAST ASIA: MASKS & MORE

  • Lilian Fendig Gallery 301 North Van Rensselaer Street Rensselaer, IN, 47978 United States (map)

Prairie Arts Council annual exhibit featuring work from our permanent collection. This year’s exhibit in the Lilian Fendig Gallery will be a very special show of unique objects that were gifted to Prairie Arts Council by Father William Stang, former Professor at Saint Joseph's College and avid collector of indigenous art from around the world. The collection of objects created by indigenous artists from Nepal and Indonesia includes a wide range of masks, several beautiful textiles, "teaching" puppets used to convey moral and cultural values as well as other artifacts from Southeast Asia. Contextual information will accompany the objects and offer a learning experience and visual delights for all ages.
