Call for Entries: On the Banks of the Wabash Exhibition

  • The Arts Federation 638 North Street Lafayette, IN, 47901 United States (map)

The Wabash River has literally and metaphorically shaped the Greater Lafayette community, and TAF wishes to pay it homage with an exhibition. The Arts Federation, Wabash River Enhancement Corporation, and Tippecanoe County Partnership for Water Quality invite artists to submit artworks that have been inspired by the Wabash River and its tributaries.

The Wabash River's headwaters are in western Ohio, and it winds its way through 20 different Indiana counties to outflow into the Ohio River in southern Indiana. The Wabash River Watershed drains most of the state of Indiana, and this influential River is the subject of our state song. The river’s name comes from the indigenous Miami-Illinois name for the Wabash River, waapaahšiiki, that roughly translates to “water over white stones.” Aside from its natural beauty, there is a lot artists can find inspirational!

Artists wishing to apply should submit the online entry form no later than 5:00 p.m. (EST) on July 15, 2022. Please note each artist is limited to three (3) submissions.
