If you have an opportunity for community artists, like a contest or club drive, please let us know so we can add it to the calendar.
If any accessibility requirements need to be addressed, please reach out to the Prairie Arts Council one week before the event so accommodations can be met, including accommodations for the blind, deaf, and mobility impaired. Volunteers Needed: ARTCAMP
This year’s ARTCAMP will run July 15-19. Assistants and other Volunteers are always wanted! Sign-up to be a volunteer to help with set-up and sign-in. Email us at: Volunteers@PrairieArtsCouncil.org.
Musicians Needed: Rensselaer Farmers Market
The Prairie Arts Council sponsors local musicians at this year’s Saturday Farmer’s Market. Selected musicians can played anytime between 8AM and 11AM on Saturdays in the summer and fall of 2024. Musicians are free to sell CDs and marketing materials and can be reimbursed for travel expenses. Any singers, soloists, or bands can apply. Shelter and electrical access are available.
Vendors Needed: Art in the Alley
Attention All Artists & Vendors to sell their Fine arts, fine crafts, foods, produce, and collectibles. PAC is accepting artists & vendors for the ART in the Alley on July 27th. Applications will be available in early May. Final Applications are due July 2nd.
12’ x 12’ Booth Fee: $20 for Members, $40 for Non-Members. New vendors must submit a $10 Application Fee with their form. If accepted, they must submit the remaining balance for their booth.
Fiber Fridays: Needle Felted Landscape
Fiber Artist, Kristi Yapp, will teach you how to needle felt onto recycled fabric and clothing. All necessary materials to create a felted landscape will be provided. Ages 12+ At the Lilian Fendig Gallery at the Carnegie Building, Rensselaer.

Vendors Needed: Holiday Show & Sale
Prairie Arts Council invites you to show and sell your original art, fine crafts, artisan foods, or unique vintage items at our Holiday Show & Sale. New Vendors are welcome to apply. Join the Prairie Arts Council and Rensselaer’s Holiday Stroll to “Shop Local” and purchase original fine arts, fine crafts, and artisan foods created by local artisans.

Call for Entries: Celebrating Photography
We invite individuals of all ages to exhibit up to three photographs for an exhibition celebrating the medium of photography. Anyone from the region is welcome to enter their work. We welcome students and professional photographers alike. A Jury will select the best photographs for Merit Awards and Best in Show and the photographers’ will be awarded cash prizes.
Fiber Fridays: Kumihimo Bracelets
Fiber Artist, Kristi Yapp, will teach students how to make two bracelets on a kumi loom using an ancient, eight string, round Japanese braid. All supplies will be provided. Ages 12+ At the Lilian Fendig Gallery at the Carnegie Building, Rensselaer.
Pysanka Workshop (Ukrainian Easter Eggs)
Sunday, March 10 from 1:00-4:00PM
Taught by Gail Woolever at her Heart to Hand Studio in Wheatfield. Cost of this fun experience is $15. All supplies will be provided. This workshop is limited to 20 participants and you must be at least 12 years old.

Call for Entries: INverse Poetry Archive
INverse, an initiative of former Indiana Poet Laureate Adrian Matejka, celebrates and preserves the diverse range of Indiana poetry for future generations of Indiana writers and readers. The works of 57 poets were added to the poetry archive in October 2023.

Call for Entries: Shirley Martin Scholarship
Created in the year 2000, the Shirley Martin Scholarship for Young Songwriters recognizes songwriters between the ages of 14 and 19 years of age who live in NW Indiana. Since its inception, the self-funded, SAMI scholarship has provided an approximate $23,000 back to area youth.

Our annual design challenge to create an original wine label artwork to be featured on the 2024 Carpenter Creek Cellars’ Strawberry Wine. This contest is about celebrating and fundraising for PAC’s Rock the Arts Festival.
