Holiday Family CRAFTernoon on December 10. Join The Arts Federation for the annual Holiday Family CRAFTernoon on Saturday, December 10, from 1 - 3 pm. We'll have holiday-themed arts and crafts activities, including ornaments, 3-D trees, and more!

Activities at multiple skill levels will be provided, but please note this program is suitable for children ages 5 and older. The cost to register is $20 per family, and all supplies are included.

The Arts Federation presents the 4th Annual Holiday Art Sale December 2 – December 16, 2022. This annual two-week sale showcases the work of regional artists and gives the community a chance to shop for gifts in a relaxed environment.

The Arts Federation (TAF), REC Room Recording, and Songwriters Association of Mid-North Indiana (SAMI) are partnering to present a series of business development seminars for recording artists. The 2-day, multi-session program will provide independent musicians the training and tools necessary to record, produce, and market their music.

Library Inspired Commission

The Friends of the Rensselaer Public Library are interested in commissioning a large original work of art to celebrate the 30th Birthday of the Jasper County Library building. The theme of the commissioned piece should relate to the value and meaning of reading and libraries. This work of art would be no smaller than [36” tall X 46 “ wide] and no larger than [44” tall X 76” wide] and is to hang on the wall. Any appropriate medium will be considered. Remuneration would be $800-$1000. This does not have to be a new work of art. We will consider existing work that fits the parameters. Questions and proposals should be submitted no later than September 8, 2022. The Friends of the Library will make the award by October 1, 2022.

TAF August Art Fair - Vendor Application

TAF is excited to announce the return of the August Art Fair, an outdoor art sale held the front lawn of the Wells Community Cultural Center. Friday, August 5, from 5 - 8 pm. Interested artists will need to submit an online application by 5 pm on July 15. Spots will be filled in the order applications are received. Artists will be responsible for running their own booth and processing their own sales. Artists will keep 100% of their sales.

This opportunity is open only to TAF Individual Artist Members.

Local Musicians for Saturday Farmer's Market

This year the Prairie Arts Council is sponsoring local musicians at this year’s Saturday Farmer’s Market on the Courthouse lawn. Music can be preformed anytime between 8AM and 11AM on Saturdays in the Summer and Fall of 2022. Any singers, soloists, or bands can apply. Basic sound sound systems can be provided but acoustic performances are fine. Shelter and electrical access are available. Preference will go to performers that expand the community’s cultural experience.

Call for Entries: On the Banks of the Wabash Exhibition

The Wabash River has literally and metaphorically shaped the Greater Lafayette community, and TAF wishes to pay it homage with an exhibition. The Arts Federation, Wabash River Enhancement Corporation, and Tippecanoe County Partnership for Water Quality invite artists to submit artworks that have been inspired by the Wabash River and its tributaries.

Applications for The 63rd Annual Chesterton Art Fair

Chesterton Art Fair is a premier juried art festival with a deep history of providing a stellar experience for both participating artists and visitors. The application deadline for the 2022 Chesterton Art Fair is April 30, 2022. All applicants must be artists that create original work in 2D, 3D, fiber, glass, leather, metal, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, and wood. Each artist must pay a $30.00 jury fee. Artists may apply in more than one media but will need to the pay the $30.00 fee for each application. There is a limit of three applications per artist. Accepted artists will be notified by May 9, 2022.

Open Applications for Art on the Wabash

The 15th Art on the Wabash art fair will be held Sunday, September 25, from 10 am to 4 pm at Tapawingo park in West Lafayette.

The fair is presented by the Art Museum of Greater Lafayette and the City of West Lafayette. Admission is free to the public and the fair will be held rain or shine.

Eligible artists must be 18 or over, residing in the following counties: Benton, Boone, Carroll, Cass, Clinton, Fountain, Howard, Jasper, Montgomery, Newton, Pulaski, Tippecanoe, Tipton, Warren, and White or have participated in Art on the Wabash before and moved away.

City Bus Seeking Artists

Deadline: February 28, 2022, at 5 pm (ET)

Stipend Amount: $2000

Artist Notification: Early March 2022

City Bus, in partnership with The Arts Federation (TAF), is seeking qualifications from graphic artists interested in designing artwork that will be displayed on the exterior of a bus in Greater Lafayette. City Bus and TAF will select one artist to create an original design using that will be reproduced on a vinyl wrap for a 60’ bus. The selected artist must be proficient in using Adobe Illustrator and will be paid $2000 upon delivery of artwork.

Artist Entry - Fifth Annual PAC Member Show

This Gallery Show is open to member artists of all ages. The exhibition will consist of two- and three-dimensional work in all media, except floor or ceiling installed work and no video. Wall pieces must be securely wired for hanging and no larger than 48” x 48”. Free-standing pieces may not exceed 32” x 32” x 60” or weigh more than 50 lbs.

All work must be the original conception and execution of the artist within the last three years. No copy work .

Entry Date Deadline:

Delivery of artwork and fees during our new gallery hours:

Tuesday April 12, Noon to 4:00 PM or Thursdays 2:00 April 14 to 6:00 PM Or make other arrangements by emailing pacrensselaer@gmail.com. Work must be received no later than Thursday April 14 at 6:00 PM.

Songwriting Scholarship - Applications Open Now

The Songwriters’ Association of Mid-north Indiana (SAMI) is accepting applications for the 2022 Shirley Martin Scholarship for young songwriters, in addition to the Mike Lane Horizon Award.

The scholarship and awards are for songwriters aged 14 to 19, who live in any of these Indiana counties: Benton, Carroll, Cass, Clinton, Fountain, Howard, Jasper, Montgomery, Newton, Pulaski, Tippecanoe, Tipton, Warren, or White and are permanent residents of Indiana.

Applications for the scholarship are accepted between now and April 15, 2022
